Four decades of my father's service to Maharashtra's co-operative housing sector gave birth to one vision — that managing a housing society should be simple, transparent, and digital. societyTALK is that vision, built.

Our Story

The problem was hiding in plain sight

Every housing society in Maharashtra runs on the same broken stack: a dedicated WhatsApp group, a shared Excel workbook, a printed receipt book, and an overworked volunteer secretary who never asked to become an accountant.

Audit season arrives and the Treasurer spends many weeks arranging the documents from three different sources. Members call to dispute their outstanding balance because they have no visibility into their own account. The committee argues over a payment because there's no audit trail.

societyTALK was designed to solve this — specifically for Maharashtra CHS under the MCS Act. Not adapted from a generic accounting tool, but built from the ground up with the right financial year, the right audit formats, the right date conventions, and the right user roles.

We are a focused team of engineers and accountants from Pune, led by a tech entrepreneur with 25 years in IT — and a legacy of housing society knowledge from my father, who served Maharashtra's Co-operative Housing Department for over 40 years. Built for Maharashtra

MCS Act bylaws, April–March financial year, DD-MM-YYYY dates, IST timestamps, INR amounts with paisa. We did not adapt a generic SaaS tool. We built this from scratch for CHS.

Designed for non-technical users

The Secretary should not need an IT degree. If the interface requires training, we have failed. Every screen is tested against the question: can a volunteer committee member use this without help?
